Zinsco panels were common from the 1950s through the 1970s.
The problem
Breakers can melt onto the bus bar, which may stop them from tripping.
How to spot one
- "Zinsco" or "Sylvania" on the label
- Multi-colored, thin breaker handles
What to do
Get a licensed electrician to inspect it. Many insurers ask for replacement.
